I just love these wallpaper designs of his. Pictured left is Ornate in black and blue and features a gorgeous and intricate baroque-inspired design. I love the drama. Pictured right is Glamorous in black and pink and, well, I think the name says it all.

trump mirrored nightstand reflective moodOne of my favourite tasks as a Style Sleuth is finding out what’s flying out of the showrooms of Canada’s hottest decor retailers. When I recently spoke with Suanne de Boer, General Manager of DeBoer’s, she noted that mirrored surfaces continue to be a big hit on everything from furnishings to accents, and running the gamut from traditional to modern styles. Here’s the Gotham Mirrored Single Dresser from DeBoer’s Trump Home Collection – yes, that’s The Donald’s own line. I admire the substantial, masculine design of this piece – it’s a great counterpoint to the delicate mirrored finish.

bradpittkiehls11 brad pitt & kiehls team upWho ever would have guessed I’d be writing about Brad Pitt in this blog? Not me! But the mega Hollywood star has teamed up with Kiehl’s to promote their new Aloe Vera Biodegradable Body Cleanser, which will be available in October.

The cleanser is cradle-to-cradle certified, free of parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate*, sodium laureth sulfate* and dyes and comes in a 100% food-grade, post-consumer recycled bottle.

100% of the net profits from the sales will go to JPF Eco Systems, which was founded with Pitt and which supports global environmental initiatives, including Make it Right, a charity which is currently helping to fund construction of environmentally sustainable, affordable housing in New Orleans for the displaced victims of Hurricane Katrina. Pitt is seen above touring New Orleans in the aftermath of Katrina.

*Sodium laureth sulfate and sodium lauryl sulfate are detergents and surfactants found in personal care products such as soap, toothpaste shampoo, cleansers and bubble baths. They’re most commonly used in these products as a foaming agent and can irritate skin.

1010002 fine diningI’m on assignment for STYLE AT HOME in Montreal next week, and I can’t wait to check out Barami- a hot new furniture destination that I’ve had my eye on since it opened a few months back. I’ve had the chance to browse their wares online, and I’m loving the lines of the Heal’s-inspired Designa dining table – cool and contemporary, with the silhouette of turned legs providing a shot of chic.
