decor vs. fashion: cookbook holder or sweater?

Keep warm and carry on is the motto getting me through these final few weeks of winter. To accomplish this goal I’ve been spending a lot of time sizzling away in the kitchen with comfort food recipes or snuggling up in cosy knits by the fireplace. So this week I am forcing myself to choose between the two.

With a $45 budget which would you treat yourself to: a nifty old-world cookbook holder or a fresh, funky knitted sweater?

Keep reading to learn more about each item…

1 Vintage blacksmith recipe holder

Never again will you have to fight to keep your cookbook open thanks to this old-world invention. Made from mango wood and beautifully crafted with an elegant aesthetic, this gadget will be a must-have for any modern kitchen. Pottery Barn, $44.

2 Marled sweater
Sweet, sophisticated and stylish — this sweater has everything going for it! Soft to the touch and brightly coloured, it is a wonderful way to stay cheery when it is cold outside. Joe Fresh, $39.

You can only buy one item, which do you choose?
