A few days ago, I attended the preview for Andrew Richard Designs 2012 outdoor furnishing collection. The colours were vivid and bright, and the furniture cosy and inviting. I left the event wanting the warmer months to quickly settle in.

There’s something rustic and charming about incorporating chalkboard items into your home decor, isn’t there? A reminder of the blackboards of our high school years, these items are an easy way to add a little whimsy and youthfulness to our home decor. Whether it’s fun accessories or larger items like wall stickers used to adorn kitchen or office walls, chalkboard is a fun and flexible texture to play with. This small restaurant has become emblematic of Little Burgundy, a quaint Montreal neighbourhood with many antique stores and small cafes. Joe Beef draws both local and international crowds who come to sample no-fuss rustic food in a homey setting.
It’s pretty difficult to get a last-minute table (especially with the recent success of the Joe Beef cookbook!), so think ahead if you want to try the restaurant.
