We love having a reason to give stuff away and today, I’ve got lots of fun things up for grabs in our Valentine’s Day giveaway. Courtesy of Indigo, this prize pack is full of lovely treasures for you or for a loved one! Here’s what’s included:
The holidays may be officially over but we still have a little holiday cheer to share! We’ve featured a few recipes from Cake Simple on Style at Home – a cookbook filled with pretty bundt cakes – and we now have a copy up for grabs. This book will help make baking easy and give you plenty of fun ideas to entertain this year.
The holidays just got sweeter!
We’re giving away three of Nigella Lawson‘s Christmas cookbooks just in time to get it under the tree!
Okay, so there’s no denying that we live in the age of technology. But out of all the electronic advancements, cameras have to be one of the industry’s leading consumer products. They’re always striving to be faster, more powerful, and much more user-friendly. They’re in our hands, phones and computers. We use them to visually document our life – constantly. And we spend hours looking at and sharing photos online.
What would we do without cameras?
Well, now you don’t have to ask because here’s your chance to win one!
Do you prefer the care and personality of a handwritten holiday card over an electronic greeting? If so, this is the contest for you!
Are you looking for some fabulous fall decor inspiration? If you’re in the Toronto area, then you must check out the Fall Home Show.
With over 250 exhibitors, professional and celebrity designers and contractors, “Fall Favourite Finds”, and our very own Style at Home stage you can’t possibly walk away uninspired!
Don’t have tickets? No problem! We have eight pairs of tickets that we want to give to YOU!
If I showed you around my house today, you would find dozens and dozens of cookbooks stacked on my bookcases, kitchen shelves and side tables. I really treasure each and every one of them and have hand-picked them all individually, creating what I consider to be a pretty perfect cookbook collection!
Ancient Grains for Modern Meals is one of those great cookbooks you want to browse just before deciding what meals to make for the week. For anyone a little weary of cooking with whole grains … this is the book for you! Author Maria Speck gives readers useful tips to use whole grains in a variety of recipes, from savoury to sweet – and we’re giving away a copy!

To enter the contest: Leave a comment below and tell us which of the three following recipes from this cookbook you are most looking forward to trying. Read the rest of this entry »
I was never one of those kids who dreaded going back to school. On the contrary, I eagerly awaited my first day back, excited about all the possibilities the new school year promised. I enjoyed school, both the academic and the social aspects of it. I enjoyed learning. And I enjoyed the back to school shopping! It was never anything extravagant – but I can still remember the excitement to stock up for the coming year – especially shiny new school supplies! You know, replace my old pencil case, get a new set of Laurentian pencil crayons (this may have been the highlight!) and a new Finder Binder – please tell me you remember Finder Binders! Oh, I’m nostalgic just thinking about it!
As back to school season rolls around again, kids all around the world are getting ready to hit the books, some more excited than others, I imagine. If you’re one of them or have kids that are heading back, we want to hear what your best strategy is for staying organized during this notoriously hectic time of year. Leave a comment below with your best back-to-school organizing tip and you’ll be entered in our contest to win one of two great prize packs from Indigo. I’ll choose the two winning responses on September 7, 2011. Here’s what’s up for grabs:
1 Kraft Notebook – Off the Record, $8.99
2 Classic All Out Of Pad, $7.50
3 In My Humble Opinion Inner Truth Journal, $19.99
4 Status Update Sticky Notes, $4.00

When it comes to home decor, some may not think about beautiful books as decor accessories. Let the books speak for themselves by simply displaying them on a table. They say never judge a book by its cover, but I’m just a sucker for a beautifully designed book jacket – who can deny love at first sight? Having said that, though I’ve fallen in lust with these books, I’m excited to give them to someone who will appreciate them as I do.
To enter, simply comment below with your best design tip and I will choose the best one. The style-savvy winner gets both books!
Here’s what you’re winning:
Living Traditions: Interiors by Matthew Patrick Smyth (Random House, 2011, $60).

Throughout the generously sized pages of perfectly styled photos, Smyth also includes his own tips and rules, particularly for overcoming the challenges of uniquely shaped layouts. In just one book you’ll be introduced to a multitude of styles and spaces in over 200 pages. Uh, yes please!
Interior Visions (Random House, 2011. $60)
Mona Hajj is renowned for her distinctive, yet harmonious use of architecture, colour, lighting, and furnishings.
