Hardware is so underrated when it comes to styling a piece of furniture. Whether new or revamped, add some flair to your drawers or cabinets with these beautiful glass knobs. The iron accents in the center add to its fabulous antique look and will give any piece a little pop and a lot of personality.
…It helps, of course, if “everything” is the latest and greatest from Anthropologie’s delish summer collection. But wouldn’t it be amazing to produce a photoshoot inside one of Jaipur’s incredibly ornate palaces? I mean check out those columns! And ooh, that intricate painted plaster! It’s a testament to Anthropologie’s wares that they actually manage to hold their own in such stunning surroundings.

Be warned – big-time swooning follows.
But you can’t blame me for going settee crazy lately. First there was that shapely velvet number from The Cross; then the Sutton from West Elm, and now Anthropologie’s chosen this petite seat as its cover girl for their April catalogue…

Could you be any more in love with that upholstery?!? It’s like a traditional French settee that’s been hit by a denim thunderbolt! This is truly upholstery as art, pure and simple – and the fact that it’s paired with a totally trad, grey finished Louis XV frame makes it even more of a standout.

And how cool is it that the upholstery carries through to the back of the settee? It’d be a shame to push this up against a wall – it’s dying to float in the middle of a room to be admired from all angles.

I’m crossing my fingers that Anthropologie will get this beauty in one of their Canadian locations… (They’re not offering Canadian shipping on this piece at this time…)
Wouldn’t you love to hang some Blue Willow on the wall above this baby? In a haphazard, totally un-frumpy way?

A sneak peek at my CityLine segment airing Tuesday, February 9, at 9AM EST…
Anthropologie’s Folk Art teapot ($48) and Sugar and Creamer set ($24).
These little gems star in my Trendspotting feature on “haute folk” – the recent mass market homage to comfy, cosy-looking North American handicraft.

Whoever would have thought they would make a flashlight out of wood! And not only is it made out of beech wood, it has an LED light, too.
It would make an awesome present! Battery-operated. — Guest poster Shelby Webster

Flipping through Anthropologie’s gorgeous September 2009 catalogue, I was pleasantly surprised to find something remarkably familiar in a pretty shot on page 24…

That intricate wallpaper on the far right was designed by none other than Tracy Kendall, the uber-creative wallcovering designer I had the chance to speak with not too long ago on this blog!

This particular design, Midsummer Night’s Wallpaper, takes actual quotes from the Shakespeare work, and sees them hand-stitched on wallpaper. So sweet! And what a coup for Tracy to get picked up by Anthropologie in addition to Hollace Cluny here in Toronto, where I first met the talented Ms Kendall. Congrats!
