I’m a sucker for a good “before and after”, and these two shots demonstrate how few rolls of wallpaper can totally transform a space. My friend Genevieve hosted a “wallpapering party” last weekend, and invited four buddies over to lend a hand in making over her kitchen with the gorgeous new Birdcage wallpaper from Graham & Brown’s stunning Mode collection of papers. It took them only four hours — including breaks! — to achieve this terrific transformation. Combining on-trend bird motifs with a boho-chic colourway, Gen’s kitchen is now fresh and fab for 2009!

Silhouettes are showing no signs of slowing down! We first did a feature on the rising popularity of this age-old art form back in the February 2008 issue of STYLE AT HOME (check out my interview with world-renowned cut-paper silhouette artist Karl Johnson here!), and the market is now positively booming with ever-more innovative decorative applications. There`s been a lot of controversy in recent years about the safety of nonstick pans. Most experts now agree that they`re safe if you observe certain protocols while cooking, like not letting the pans get overly hot, or preheating them to too high a temperature.
