tivo to go

I’m a TiVo fanatic. Ever since I brought the wonderful little box into my apartment, I’ve been hooked. How did I enjoy life before the magic of digital TV recording? I just don’t know. Whether it’s to watch junk reality shows like MTV’s The Real World, or record my fave movie that is inconveniently airing at 4am, my TiVo has become a reliable pal.

Well, TiVo has just made my life even easier. When I was away in Boston this past weekend, my little video buddy recorded a plethora of programs and I’m having a hard time trying to watch them all. And now, I’ve just found out this fascinating little program: iTiVo. That’s right, folks. You can now transfer your recorded programs from your video box to your iTunes account on your Mac computer. From there, you can upload the content onto your iPod or iPhone. How cool is that? Now there’s no reason for you to fall behind on your fave TV shows, even when you’re on the road.

Check out the details here, as well as instructions on how to download the instruction manual.

swap music with a super-cool mi-Share

mishare swap music with a super cool mi Share
Oh, the inconvenience of hearing a great tune on a friend’s iPod and not having immediate access. I, for one, am a music fanatic, and hearing an amazing new song gets me instantly excited (much like new tech gadgets themselves!).

For those of you with the same musical fervour as myself, you’ll be delighted to hear of the miShare, a handy little device that allows you to swap files and playlists between iPods. All you need to do is create an ‘On-the-Go’ playlist of the songs you want to share, hook up each end to a different iPod, then click the big button on the miShare to swap ‘em over. Unfortunately, the current model isn’t compatible with my iPhone or an iTouch, but it will work with my Nano, so I’m still a satisfied customer (development for accessibility with the two devices is currently in the works, though).

Priced at only $100 US and with a cuter-than-cute slogan (‘I think your iPod likes my iPod’), this gadget is a great gift for the music maven in your life.

Check out the miShare website for more info and ordering information.

sena cases for iPod touch

sena border1 sena cases for iPod touchMy friend and colleague Lauren McPhillips is always writing about awesome new tech toys and gadgets in her blog Tech Style. Have you checked it out? Trust me: Whether you`re a true technophile or a Luddite who`s contemplating conversion, you`re bound to find cool new products to drool over on Lauren`s blog so check it out! Anyhow, reading her blog got me thinking about my latest toy — my 2G iPod Touch. I love it. And just as the commercials say, it`s the funnest toy I`ve ever had! It`s sleek and slick and feels so good in my hands. Problem is, it needs to be protected to keep it shiny and scratch-free. I had initially bought a hard plastic case with a protective screen but within a handful of days, the protective screen was so badly scratched, it made my iPod Touch look terrible. And so I searched and searched until I finally found the perfect case. This case, pictured here, from Sena Store, is exactly what I was looking for. It has an ultra-slim design, is made from European Napa leather and has a luxurious velvet lining to protect the face of your iPod. They come in a variety of colours (I love the white!) and the best part is the price — they`re only $29.99! There are lots of cases out there for the iPhone but if you have an iPod Touch, the options are considerably more limited. So I was very excited to find this case. I also love the fact that it`s a pouch meaning that when I throw it into my purse, it`s completely protected, but when I want to use it, I am able to interact with the screen directly as opposed to through a plastic face protector. Part of the beauty and appeal of these Apple products is being able to touch them and this case allows you to do just that!

Sena store offers cases for all your favourite toys — laptops, phones, cameras, MP3 players and more. Check it out!
