must have: umbra chirp finials

picture 21 must have: umbra chirp finials

It’s a shame that drapes get all the attention, when there’s so much gorgeous drapery hardware out there that’s vying for the spotlight. New from Umbra is this adorable little fella, a finial that acts as a checklist of on-trend elements: silhouettes, birds and quirky hardware. What’s more, this piece is part of Umbra’s “Meli-Melo” mix-and-match drapery program, that allows you to choose a rod, add a pair of finials and create your own custom drapery combination.

inVU inHOME consultations

showsuite inVU inHOME consultationsOne of the highlights of the Dream Master Bedroom Suite that we created for the STYLE AT HOME Show back in October were the sumptuous silk drapes by inVU Drapery Co. They added so much to the space with their luxurious silk sheen and cosy neutral palette! Now, in addition to their trademark window treatments, inVU is offering the inVU inHOME consultation service. For a flat rate of $75, an inHOME drapery and design consultant can visit you at home to offer guidance on window treatments, custom furnishings and reupholstering services, furniture placement, and even paint selection! What’s more, once you’ve paid the flat rate, you can call back for assistance down the road — for free. What an amazing resource!

inexpensive window treatments

drapery inexpensive window treatmentsOK, we all know that custom-made drapery is preferable to ready-made. But let`s face it; sometimes there just isn`t the time and money to invest in the process. And if this is the case, you needn`t worry about leaving your windows (gasp!) naked, for all your neighbours to spy on your every move. Nor do you need to spend a small fortune to outfit them in stylish, pretty fabrics. Many stores now offer a wide variety of window coverings that are available at more than reasonable prices. Drapery options have come a long way and I love that there`s so much to choose from. I love these incredibly inexpensive options from Linens ‘N Things. The Bellingham Window Curtains (pictured left) are modern, featuring a contemporary stripe pattern and cost between $49.99 and $59.99. And they`re machine washable. I like that! The Moda Contempo panels (pictured right, $59.99) feature European blind-stitched hems, are dry-clean only and come in five elegant neutrals. Freshening up a room just got a whole lot easier with these inexpensive options.
