cozy chenille throwsby Natalie Bahadur |
I’m definitely not ready for fall (we’ve barely enjoyed a full summer here in Toronto). But it was chilly last night and whether we’re ready or not, the nip in the air reminds us that fall is just around the corner. So even though I’m not ready for it (have I mentioned that already?), I can’t help but think about it. When autumn does decide to arrive on our doorstep, I’ll be ready for it with these cozy chenille blankets. These soft, beautiful throws are available in plaid, solid and multi-stripe patterns and will look lovely draped over my sofa, ready to wrap me in warmth when the time comes.
Available at: Restoration Hardware
Price: $55

Since fall is my fave season, I am SO ready for it. I had a chenille blanket before but got rid of it when it got ratty, and I can only remember is being nothing but super cosy. Restoration Hardware is just around the corner from my place, so I’ll nip up there to check these beauties out! Thanks for the tip.
I have to say that even though I’m not ready to let summer go, I love the change of seasons and a change of wardrobe AND snuggling up in a cosy blanket, so thanks for pointing these out!

I have a Restoration Hardware chenille throw. It’s SO soft and snuggly!
For the antiquer in all of us, try The Cookstown Antique Market - Hwy 400 north to Hwy 89. They are actually on hwy 27, about a kilometer from the lights at hwy 89 - they have great vintage and really old great comfy chenilles and tartan blankets. Just perfect for those fall nights.
have you tried washing your chenille throw in the washing machine? and drying it? if so, how did you do it and how did it turn out? thanks.
Hi Mary!
Yes, you can wash and dry your chenille throw at home. I’d suggest washing it using the delicate cycle and drying it on low heat, alone in the dryer (otherwise your other items might come out covered in chenille fuzz!)
Hope this helps!

I have tried washing my chenille throws in the washing machine and drying them both in the tumble dryer and also hanging them on the clothes line to dry, however, my living room floor is still constantly a mass of fluff. Can you advise how I can get rid of the fluff and stop this happening. A friend has advised to put them in a bag and put them in the freezer. They’re actually there at the moment but I’d appreciate your tips. Thanks
I have a question about the throws. I have 3 - bought them a few years ago. They have never been washed - haven’t needed to until now. They say dry clean only. are the ones discussed about the same blanket? weighs around 5 lbs and super soft? I am scared of washing and ruining them.

I have a lovely queen size sage green chenille duvet cover, but it has been putting off so much fuzz I can’t believe it. In fact, I’ve gotten TWO FULL TALL KITCHEN GARBAGE SACKS of packed fluff off it, and it’s not quitting. I’ve been running it through the dryer repeatedly on the no heat, “air fluff” setting, because I’m afraid to set all the fluff packed in the dryer exhaust on fire. It won’t stop - any suggestions?
