decor: pretty in pinkby Natalie Bahadur |
There was once a time when pink was probably the most un-hip colour in the world. Many boasted they’d never be caught dead in pink and a man wearing pink — utterly unheard of! And as for decor, pink was reserved for cutesy nurseries or young girls’ bedrooms. Beyond that, the colour was shunned. These days, it’s hard to imagine a colour that can’t work in a space, if handled with care, of course. With the right room and the right accessories, any colour can find its place in your home. And besides, isn’t the most important thing that you like it? That should always be your starting point.
So, as today’s online travels led me to neimanmarcus.com, I was struck by the abundance of pink. No longer girly or childish, the colour takes on an elegant sophistication and I find it fresh and soothing. What do you think? Check out some of my fave finds:

Hello Pink Lover! I love pink to. I drug an antique pink rug from my guest room and put it in my livingroom. My furniture is a medium brown newest micro fiber out. My wall are a sand color and my acent wall is choc brown. My window coverings are an off white. My trim is cloud white. So needless to say the pink rug made that whole room POP! I’ve had so many complements on my choices. Looking forward to adding some more pink accents.But NOT TOO MUCH!
I love pink and have bought everything I can find in the color. It is very hard to find these days but you can find it almost always in October for Breast Cancer Awareness - which is always a good cause to support. My decor style is a bit shabby chic with a bit of modern sensibility. My furniture pieces are snow white and almost all of my decorative accents are pink - lamps, vases, picture frames, pillows, rugs, you get my drift. Pink is such a happy, beautiful color. Oh, I must mention I’m a single gal. Not sure if a guy would go for it but I do love a guy who’s secure enough to wear my favorite color. It always brings a smile to my face.
Pink is my all-time FAVOURITE color and if it weren’t that I was married to a manly-man, everything I own would be in pink; as it is, I add as many decorative touches in it that I can (c;
