a safe nonstick frying pan

There’s been a lot of controversy in recent years about the safety of nonstick pans. Most experts now agree that they’re safe if you observe certain protocols while cooking, like not letting the pans get overly hot, or preheating them to too high a temperature.

Still doubtful? Check out GreenPan products! I absolutely love my frying pan and, in fact, prefer it to other nonstick pans I’ve used in the past. It boasts Thermolon nonstick coating, a new, non-PTFE* form of coating, and you really can use it without oils or butters; just follow the instructions re heating and cleaning and you’re good to go! I just have a frying pan so far, but you can get complete sets of pots and pans if you like.

  1. I have one of these and I love it!

  2. They really are great, aren’t they? Laurie

  3. Hi Joy and Laurie, I have to ask you ladies ,where did you get your Green Pans, at what store?.

  4. Hi Norma,

I got mine from the press company to try out, but they should be available at the stores as listed in the post. They might not be at each and every one of those stores, so you might try checking online first at the stores’ websites before you go to a location. If they offer online ordering try that; it might be your best option. Good luck!

  5. Hi Laurie, I was just at the Bay today and saw those frying pans, those are really nice looking pans. 3 sizes , the 8″ one is $39.99, the 9.5″is$49.99 and the 11″ one is $59.99. I’d like to get rid of our teflon pans and get 1 of each of these ones. They had lots there. Thanks, Laurie.

  6. Glad you found them!

  7. I have two green pans and hate them. EVERYTHING sticks, even bacon! They worked fine for a few weeks and then quickly degenerated. I seasoned them, never put them in the dishwasher, use a small amount of oil or butter. Nothing works. Trying to make eggs in it is the worst. I end up with a huge mess. Even soaking the pan overnight doesn’t help. I’m ready to go back to regular nonstick pans, it is not worth the hassle to use and try to clean these pans. If you do a Google search you will find overwhelmingly negative comments about Green Pans. The majority say the pans worked as promised for maybe a month and after that, forget it.

  8. I’m sorry you haven’t had luck with your pans, Valgal. I’m still using my two and loving them. Did you perhaps use them on heat that was too high? I’ve never used mine on more than medium heat, and that’s always been plenty high to cook anything, and if you do heat them too high, you’ll ruin them, sorry to say.

I love mine and hope your experience hasn’t turned your off safe nonstick pans forever!

    Cheers, Laurie
