glam reusable shopping bagsby laurie |
There’s been an explosion of reusable shopping bags of late and I say, bring it on!
I love Envirosax’s line of super-lightweight bags not only because you can fold them down into incredibly small little bundles, but also because they come with tabs with snap closures, so they stay all neatly folded up in your purse when you’re not using them.
Each is capable of holding twice the amount of two grocery bags (that’s a whopping 44 pounds), and the pattern won’t fade away, no matter how many times you wash the bag.
They come in lots of beautiful colours and patterns, so you can match them to your outfits, and they’d make great little gifts!
Available at: www.envirosax.com
Price: $8.50 US

Great idea but surely this is a Canadian producer of such bags that could have been used. I’m all for going green but I would like Canadian products.
Thanks for commenting, Marian. I love highlighting Canadian products whenever possible, and we have a lot of great ones!
I chose to feature the Envirosax bag because it was the perfect size for my needs and, despite that size, folds down into a tiny bundle I can easily tuck into my purse and carry about with me everywhere. Since I have it handy all the time, I never have to resort to plastic bags, so it’s a winner in my books! If you know of any comparably sized foldable Canadian bags, do let me know.
In the meantime, you might want to check out http://www.bettybags.ca/web/index.html. Their foldable bags are smaller, but might be handy for your needs, and they are made in Canada.
Cheers!

I just wanted to say that I thought I loved the Envirosax at first. However, I’ve been using the same one for just a little over a year now and it’s already falling apart at the seams. I carry a lot of heavy stuff and these bags just don’t cut it. It’s a shame because I love the fact that i can just throw them in my purse and go! Hopefully I’ll find a bag just as convinient but sterdier.
Sorry to hear that, Eve. I’ve been using my one Envirosax bag pretty much daily since before I posted this entry and it’s holding up really well. I used it for everything from carting groceries home from the store to carrying my lunch to the office and magazines back and forth from home and work and it looks almost as good as the day I got it. Maybe you got a dud one? I have two others and they’re also holding up well…
