Leather-look almost always refers to a vinyl product. Vinyl is NOT green - it off-gases formaldehyde forever.

Sorry I haven’t gotten back to you sooner; I’ve been away. The boxes are actually polyurethane. Not perfect from an eco point of view, but definitely better than vinyl.
The idea behind gift boxes is to use something that won’t immediately be trashed, as gift wrap would, but that would be reused over a long period of time by being repurposed.
