new ikea 2010 catalogue - shades of greyby brett |
Did you get your copy yet???
Here’s a smattering of the yumminess inside IKEA’s new 2010 catalogue…

Loving the grey! IKEA’s pronouncing it the achromatic hue of the year, and you’ll see it on its own and paired with bright colours throughout the book.

I’m really falling for the geometric print (Figur grey) on the IKEA Stockholm easy chair. Here’s a detail:
And for all you naysayers who think grey can’t be “pretty”…

Edland four-poster bed frame in white, Alvine Kvist duvet cover and two pillowcases, Alina bedspread in dark grey, Alvine Rand rug in grey/white/black, Ritva cushions and tie-backs in grey
And of course, my personal favourite… The new Edland series. It absolutely rocks in grey, and the curvaceous leg is a stunning little detail…

Wow I am loving the grey with the purple, a great look!
Can’t wait to receive my new catalogue from IKEA!
My fave palette is white, lavender and grey, so I am adoring these new finds from IKEA!
I purchased the Ektorp svanby grey cover last weekend and I am in love. Seriously, every time I walk into the room I think, “what an attractive looking couch you are!”
Ooh, congrats, Melissa! In real life, the grey cover doesn’t have that shiny finish that the photo above suggests… Such a handsome piece.
I guess grey can be “pretty” like you say, but to me it’s too flat and dull. Unless you bring in some pink or yellow accents, grey is a bore.
Grey never exists in a vacuum, though. You wouldn’t do an entire room in it; and even the smallest coloured accents (the plants in the Edland poster bed shot, for instance) breathe life into it. Not to mention the varied textures in that particular shot - the quilted bedspread, textured sheers and plush carpet. Never boring!
