It’s that time again…
(Me, Style At Home editor-in-chief Jane Francisco, contributing decorating editor Kimberley Seldon and CityLine host Tracy Moore)
Join me, Kimberley Seldon and special guest Samantha Pynn (I’m SO cited to finally be on-air with my old partner in crime!) on the Tuesday, September 29 episode of CityLine. I’ll be setting the table for harvest brunch, and adding to the overall mayhem that’s bound to ensue when you get the three of us together… Can’t WAIT!!!
Here’s one of the plates I’m using in my tablescape… SO dreamy!

Ooh, have I got a treat in store for you…
My colleague and fave sweetie-pie Samantha Pynn has invited me down to Pure Design’s new production office! In the midst of producing the smash-hit’s sophomore season, Samantha decided that her base of operations here in Toronto needed a shot of the same chic she injects in each of her TV makeovers. I’m going to take you behind the scenes at Pure Design to show you the amazing before & after transformation of Samantha’s own office, right here on Style Sleuth… Can’t wait!
I’ll keep you posted…
In the meantime, check out Samantha’s greatest hits from Season One — you can still watch them online on HGTV!

One of the most frequently-asked questions I field from my friends is, “Where is Marilyn Denis?!?”
It’s undeniable that there remains a Marilyn-shaped hole in our lives ever since she left her epic 19-year gig as host of CityLine in May 2008. The lady had style, wit and a flair for rapid-fire improv that made her a household name for nearly two decades. (And she’s lovely in person, too boot!) Broadcast live-to-air, there were always mad antics unfolding during CityLine tapings that would’ve made a lesser host completely lose her cool — does anyone remember the time that my colleague Samantha was demo-ing the electric juicer and forgot to put a glass under the spout, showering the studio floor with O.J.? Absolutely hilarious, and Marilyn took it all in stride. Good memories…
I still get to wake up to Marilyn every morning, as she remains a host on 104.5 CHUM FM, Toronto’s most popular morning radio show. In fact, Marilyn’s launching a new segment every Thursday morning at 8:20 called “All About Style”. Her guest this morning was none other than our own Contributing Style Editor Karl Lohnes, who introduced her to the the rather scandalous-sounding “Seven Deadly Decorating Sins“. Even if you don’t live in the GTA, you can still get your fix of Marilyn on-air at the CHUM FM website! Yay!
An even bigger “YAY!” is warranted by the news that production is soon to begin on Marilyn’s new venture… The much-anticipated Marilyn Denis Show on CTV! Coming to your small screens before the year’s end… I’ll keep you posted!

So sad… I honestly really enjoyed their show, and it will be missed. The CBC is careful to say that Steven & Chris is on “indefinite hiatus” rather than a cancellation (which is what’s been announced for its other lifestyle show, Fashion File) which leaves a bit of hope. I’m interviewing them tomorrow to get the inside scoop. Read the CBC’s full story here.
Never miss an episode of Pure Design again!
HGTV is now hosting streaming video of Samantha Pynn’s gorgeous new makeover show on its website, including the recently aired “Tiffany’s Bedroom” episode, which is one of my fave transformations so far.
Did you manage to catch Samantha’s presentations at the STYLE AT HOME Show this weekend?
