Dress up your doors and mantels for the holidays

The challenge Style at Home editors Erin McLaughlin and Suzanne Moutis  were each given doors and mantels of similar styles and asked to come up with a holiday look for each.
The result Two wildly different designs chock full of stylish spirit. It just goes to show you: with the right festive elements, the ageold tradition of holiday decor never feels tired.

Mantel
’Tis the season of indulgence. Editor-in-chief Erin McLaughlin’s decadent display of rich colours and sophisticated accents brings intense drama to a modern mantel. The sumptuous setup goes on a “gilt trip” with a grand mirror in the season’s hottest finish: gold. A dried magnolia-leaf garland adds a natural element, while playful tassels attached to a piece of purple ribbon keep the look from being too serious.
