before and after: bathroom makeover

Two months ago, I set out with a mission to makeover my former condo's bathroom with a barely there budget of under a thousand dollars. 1k may seem like a lot, but it's amazing how quickly paint, flooring and plumbing can eat away at that stash of cash. A  charming concept image inspired the classic meets mod-industrial aesthetic I was envisioning for my drab and dated bathroom. Here's a look at the  before: And (drum roll please) here's the after: Painted exposed pipes, plenty of coats of white paint on the walls and a show-stopping bamboo ladder were all inspired by my initial concept image and deliver maximum impact at minimum expense. Cheery yellow accents highlight the room's existing yellow claw foot tub and pack vintage punch. A pair of chevron patterned shower curtains are an unexpected touch and keep the look current. What serves as your inspiration and guiding post for a room makeover? An inspiring image, a fabulous furnishing or accessory, or perhaps a visit to a restaurant or hotel?
