How impressive are these plants? I actually do quite well with house plants, and I'd love to add a few more around my house – they add a gorgeous hit of green and make you feel like you're in a conservatory. The two big guys shown below in  DesignLoveFest blogger Bri Emery's living room are fiddle leaf fig trees. I have one and it's super easy to care for and it grows like crazy. You can find similar ones at  The Home Depot and  IKEA. And this grouping of succulents and cacti across a simple white fireplace mantel at the Ojai Rancho Inn (in Ojai, California) is genius. To get the boho/California casual look for yourself, line up small terracotta pots with succulents across a mantel, your dining table (as an original centrepiece) or along a sideboard or console. If you lack a green thumb, here are two easy care tips: Choose plants that work with your home's natural light, and water them the right amount. Overwatering can cause your plants to turn brown – once a week usually does the trick for me (expect for succulents and cacti, which require WAY less water).
