trend: grey is the best-selling paint colour in Canada!

I have some shocking news. According to CIL paint, Canadians are stuck on neutral colours! CIL conducted a countrywide survey to find out which colours Canadians liked to paint their walls. "While most people... acknowledge that using a more colorful shade can rejuvenate a room, when it comes to actual purchases, the majority appears to take a more conservative approach," said Alison Goldman, brand manager for CIL paint. Okay, I LOVE neutrals – so much so that we devoted our January Style at Home to decorating with neutrals. So the news from CIL's survey comes as no surprise. But neutrals don't need to be boring. "To add interest to a room," Goldman says, "paint darker or lighter versions of the main neutral wall color on baseboards, trim, windowsills, ceilings and doors." One suggestion is pairing CIL's Ominous (50YR 26/023) with CIL's Silver Shores (50YR 53/011) 20131125-104515.jpg (please note that colors aren't calibrated for this blog). And the best-selling colour? A classic greige. CIL's Chinchilla White (10YY 46/041). 20131125-104815.jpg What do you think? Is your house painted in neutrals?
