2. Go with durable flat-weave rugs.
Some things you just can’t do on a set, and wall-to-wall floor covering is one of them. Producer Christine Hanlon tucked a large rug against the walls to fake it, but she says broadloom carpeting is a great way to achieve sophistication in the bedroom. “Just avoid fuzzy high-pile options,” Christine cautions. Instead, she recommends hard-wearing, low-maintenance flat-weaves and low piles in natural fibres and blends.

3. Accessorize with a boho-chic basket.
