No matter your budget, there are a few design tips that will help you create an on-trend room like either of these.

Look to Pantone's top picks: With Pantone’s 2017 colour of the year (Greenery) as our guide, we drew from nature’s palette, painting the walls a leafy hue and underscoring the look with everything from fresh foliage to palm-patterned toss cushions. There’s nothing like the great outdoors to lend warmth and renew the senses.

Play with textures: No matter how bold the space, introducing subtle textural elements like this white diamond-stitched coverlet offers an ultra-cozy feel.

Don't be scared to add more bright hues: Care to up your room’s colour ante further? Bring on the bold by layering on a cheerful yellow area rug, as we have here. “The piece ties in with the other sunny accents and plays up the contrast,” says contributing design editor Christine Hanlon. Bonus: A healthy dose of yellow makes waking up in the a.m. all the easier (or so we think!).

Opt for a trendy Palm Springs vibe: Nothing spells luxury like an exotic locale where swaying palm trees are the tallest structures in sight. But when a vacay isn’t in the cards, who’s to say your bedroom can’t double as a beach pad? We rounded up four frond-patterned toss cushions that will bring texture and tranquility to your sleeping quarters.

Pick a simple frame: A sleek, low-profile bed frame in a crisp white is serene enough to prompt dreamy slumber on any given night, and we've rounded up queen-sized options (below!) to suit every bedroom and budget. All that's missing: glorious ocean vistas as far as the eye can see.
