5 powder room must haves

By: Morgan Lindsay

Adding to my growing list of favourite spaces we've featured is this glam powder room designed by Tim Lam. I love the bold contrast of blue and white, and the graphic punch of the wallpaper. Check out 5 elements of this space that I think ever powder room should have.

Featured here, this powder room has many different elements that I think make up a great space.

1 Mix of styles: The open frame vanity and sleek marble top brings a contemporary element to the room, yet still mixes well with the traditional white wainscoting.

2 Mixed metals: Different metals are found throughout the space in the waste bin, vanity base, faucet, pendants and artwork frame.

3 Be bold!: Smaller rooms are often the easiest spaces to get away with big impact wall coverings, like the paper that Tim used. The bold blue hue contrasts the rest of the space and it's whimsical pattern brings an element of fun to an unexpected room.

4 Incorporate something old: The mirror used in this room is an older piece that was given a fresh coat of paint. Including older items (with an updated look) allows anyone to bring some personality to the space.

5 Soft staples: Love the casual layered linen hand towels and small vase of fresh flowers. These softer elements help break away from all the hard features in a bathroom. Artwork is also a great way to liven up to room.
