editor's pick: rooms i love

By: Morgan Lindsay

I've already highlighted two spaces I love ( here and here). And I couldn't help myself - I have to add another living room to my list of favourite spaces! I'm surprised I gravitate so much to this interior as I'm usually a sucker for a more symmetrical space. But there is something about the strong use of white mixed with the bolder colours on the bookcase that really draws me in. Designed by Rebecca Lapres of Riesco & Lapres Interior Design, this Vancouver heritage home is fresh, has clean lines and looks comfy! Again, it's the 'lived in look' that I like to see. I can picture myself in this space. The branches on the mantel are an easy 'floral' arrangement that brings height to the room to balance off the bookcase. The shelves, although quite full, aren't messy - which helps keep the space feeling larger and less cluttered. I also like how there are no window treatments in this room. Natural light is so important to take advantage of! If anything, I would add a sheer roman blind if you wanted to have some privacy. Lastly, both sofa's are slipcovered. If you have a love for white like me, this is a great way to have white furniture and not care if anything spills! Worse comes to worse you pop the covers off and clean them! What do you think about this living room?
