style close-up: greek key pattern revealed

Earlier this week we gave you a close-up of a room greek key pattern that was used in a home featured in Style at Home. Using five clues, we wanted to know if you could identify the home and now it's time to see if you were right! It is the dated transitional Toronto home designed by Sloan Mauran: Classic elegance.

The staircase itself was opened up during the home renovation to create flow on the main floor, as well as visual impact -- thanks to, in part, the monochromatic  Greek key patterned stair runner. While the rest of the home's interior design maintains a sophisticated and elegant air, this textile adds a hit of modern appeal and trendiness. What do you think of the staircase - yay OR nay?
