Look of the week: Neutrals

By: Natalie Bahadur
If you think of neutral colours as boring and safe, you might want to think again! Neutrals can be used to just as dramatic effect as bold colours and can really add personality to your home. Whether your prefer a neutral backdrop that you can enliven with colour or an all-neutral space that's soothing and serene, neutral colours can help ground or accentuate any room in your home. "When working with a neutral colour palette, mix your textures," says Lisa Canning, Designer, Lisa Canning Interiors. "A variety of shiny, matte and soft textures keeps things interesting." Also consider using pattern to keep a neutral palette lively, she says. "Mixing a variety of patterns with different scales will be dynamic and lush."
