- 1 pound butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 cups flour
- dash of salt
1 Beat sugar and butter on high until very fluffy. Add flour and salt, a small amount at a time; blend until very smooth.
2 Divide into thirds and wrap in waxed paper to form a roll about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Refrigerate until firm.
3 Cut cookies 1/4 inch thick, place on ungreased cookie sheets and bake in 325 degree oven until lightly browned, about 10 minutes.
