Cookie swap: Tai's chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter (or margarine) - room temperature
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light brown)
  • 1/2 cup white sugar (granulated)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (or whichever extract is on hand, preferably coconut)
  • 1 egg (room temp)
  • 1 cup flour + 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (any type is fine, butterscotch, white chocolate even mini m&ms)
  • 1/2 cup nut (optional)
  • 2 bowls, one large and the other medium sized.

Directions

In the large bowl, mix both sugars and margarine/butter. Add the egg, make sure it is at room temperature! Also add the extract for flavour.

2 In the medium sized bowl, mix the flour, baking soda and salt together.

3 Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients (Add the contents of the medium bowl to the large bowl). Mix well. Add the chocolate chips and nuts (optional). Place mixture in fridge to harden slightly. Approximately 10 mins.

4 Preheat oven at 325 C

5 Place cookie dough by the tsp full onto a lightly greased baking sheet evenly spaced.

6 Bake in oven for 8-10 mins or until edges are lightly browned.
