diy project: decorative haggadah covers for passover

By: Jessica Waks
With Passover quickly approaching, here is a clever DIY project to add some style to your seder table: decorative haggadah covers! The seder meal is all about order, so you need something to guide you along: the haggadah. During the seder, your family and friends take turns reading from this book of blessings, songs and passages that explain the significance and traditions of the seder meal. There are haggadahs available that are very beautiful, but they can also be quite pricey. The numbers of guests typically hosted at a seder meal numbers over a dozen, so purchasing more decorative haggadahs for each of your guests isn't economical. Instead, it is common to use less attractive paperback versions. An easy DIY solution can be to make colourful covers that dress up your basic paperback haggadah and complement your colour scheme. Find out how to make your own pretty and personalized (and affordable) haggadah covers. 1 Pick coloured craft paper or use wallpaper remnants in a pretty pattern that match your decor.

2 Cut the paper to size using a utility knife and metal ruler, making sure to leave enough excess paper to fold over the inside covers so they stay secure.

3 If you want the decorative covers to be permanent, use double-sided tape to adhere them on both sides. And there you have it! What decorative touches do you add to your seder meal?
