flower arranging: 3 fab spring centrepieces

One of my favourite part of my jobs is getting to go to interesting press events. I'm not able to go often - the Style at Home editorial and design team attend - but I love when I can get out of the office to be inspired. Today I went to a media launch for Kitchen Aid's new Pro Line countertop appliances and the event exceeded my expectations. The appliances were spectacular (more on that later) but so were the floral arrangements that were used to decorate the space. When I first walked in to the event space I was struck by the beauty of this arrangements of red roses and tulips (yes, those are tulips!) 20140402-131730.jpg A closer look at the flowers and you will see that the tulip petals have been peeled back to expose the tulip stamens which are just beautiful!   20140402-131915.jpg Then there is the black arrangement, which is a combination of deep red roses, dark purple orchids and black tulips (again with the petals peeled back.) 20140402-132309.jpg The last arrangement is a perfect centerpiece for a wedding. A combination of ranunculus, white tulips with yellow stamens and frothy white hydrangeas. To make the arrangement truly on-brand for Kitchen Aid the flowers are displayed in the metal mixing bowl of the stand mixer! 20140402-132553.jpg t> 20140402-132615.jpg What makes the flowers arrangements even more interesting is that designer Shai DeLuca worked with Fresh Florals in Toronto to create arrangements that coordinated with some of Kitchen Aid's new colours for their appliances - which are Candy Apple Red, Onyx Black and Frosted Pearl White. There's another fabulous colour as well: Medallion Silver. And example below is how Shai coordinated the Kitchen Aid's gorgeous Candy Apple Red with an interior vignette. You can see the new 7-quart bowl-lift stand mixer on the side table. 20140402-133042.jpg Kudos to the innovative team of Fresh Floral Creations and Shai for a beautiful event!
