Steel-cut oatmeal with orange marmalade and toasted pecans

Also known as Irish or Scottish Oatmeal, steel-cut oatmeal, takes longer to cook than rolled oats or instant oatmeal, but its nutty flavor and chewy texture are well worth the time. This version, topped with orange marmalade and toasted pecans, is very tasty and is packed with healthy vitamins. What a warming way to start an active day!

Ingredients

  • Steel-cut oatmeal, cooked according to package directions
  • 1 tablespoon orange marmalade
  • 1 tablespoon toasted pecans, chopped
  • Warm milk, for serving

Directions

Spoon the cooked oatmeal into a cereal bowl. Top with marmalade and toasted pecans. Serve at once with warm milk.

Makes approximately 1 serving.
