Cookie swap: Marie's oatmeal chocolate chunk cookies

  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1&3/4 cups sugar (mixture of 1/2 white & 1/2 brown)
  • 2 eggs slightly beaten
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp each baking powder, & salt
  • 2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1& 1/2 cups chocolate chunks

Combine all dry ingrdients except oats & chocolate chunks in bowl and set aside. In large mixing bowl, cream butter & sugars until creamy- then beat in eggs.

2 Add dry ingredients - mix well - then stir in oats & chocolate chunks by hand.

Drop by rounded tablespoons on ungreased cookie sheets; Place a whole almond on each (if desired)

4 Bake in preheated 350 oven about 12 minutes or until golden.

Makes 3-4 dozen - depending on size.
