- 1 cup softened butter
- 1&3/4 cups sugar (mixture of 1/2 white & 1/2 brown)
- 2 eggs slightly beaten
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp each baking powder, & salt
- 2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
- 1& 1/2 cups chocolate chunks
- Optional: whole almonds
1 Combine all dry ingrdients except oats & chocolate chunks in bowl and set aside. In large mixing bowl, cream butter & sugars until creamy- then beat in eggs.
2 Add dry ingredients - mix well - then stir in oats & chocolate chunks by hand.
3 Drop by rounded tablespoons on ungreased cookie sheets; Place a whole almond on each (if desired)
4 Bake in preheated 350 oven about 12 minutes or until golden.
Makes 3-4 dozen - depending on size.
