- 4 10-inch wooden skewers
- 2 tbsp fresh orange juice
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 5 oz whipping cream
- 12 medium strawberries
- 2 to 3 nectarines or peaches, sliced into 8 wedges
- 8 large pineapple chunks
Directions
1 Presoak wooden skewers in water for 20 to 30 minutes. Meanwhile, grease barbecue grill and pre-heat to medium-high. Stir together fresh orange juice and maple syrup in a small bowl until combined; reserve.
2 Melt semi-sweet chocolate pieces with whipping cream in a small pan over low heat, stirring constantly to avoid burning. Remove pan from heat, transfer mixture to a small bowl and then cover tightly with foil in order to keep sauce warm.
3 Thread wet skewers with fruit, alternating with strawberries, nectarine and pineapple pieces. Brush fruit lightly with orange juice and maple syrup mixture and place on grill. Grill fruit for 1 to 2 minutes per side, or until fruit is warm and lightly marked. Serve fruit on a plate surrounded with chocolate sauce.
