A cosy family home

What makes Margie's home truly irresistible is the plentiful collection of unusual, often unabashedly pretty accessories that dress each room. She loves to make a game out of the hunting aspect of decorating, shopping at favourite boutiques for eclectic, inexpensive accents and filling in empty spaces with yard-sale treasures, which are sometimes dressed up in elegant fabric, a pretty paint treatment or a new finish. "It's becoming much more fashionable these days to seek out bargains rather than spend a lot on decorating," she says.

With its relaxed, comfortable furnishings, soothing palette and imaginative details and accessories, Margie and Brad's home has a friendliness that's wonderfully welcoming. "We really want our home to feel comfortable, approachable and familiar, for both our family and guests," says Margie. "The idea is for people to walk in and immediately feel right at home."
