Find a new use for worn picture frames

Dramatic or whimsical, baroque or austere, a picture frame can be a gift-giver’s best friend. Pick up as many inexpensive ones as you can carry at antique markets and yard sales throughout the year, and reinvent them with these creative ideas as glorious tokens for birthdays, anniversaries, or even “just because.”

How to display worn picture frames
1 Use vintage fabric to cover a tattered old frame. Cut a length of fabric into strips and then begin binding them tightly around the frame in overlapping loops.

2 Paint an old frame, then fit a piece of wood coated with chalkboard paint inside it to create a unique message board.
