Project: Co-ordinating cubes

It is so easy to co-ordinate a trio of store-bought candles by adding labels. Simply print narrow bands of paper with thoughtful messages or the monogram of the person for whom the candles are intended, and wrap them around three block-shaped candles. Place the trio together in a sleek gift box. You will be proud to present these candles to anyone on your gift list.

YOU WILL NEED:
Self-healing mat
Cardstock in white
Ruler
Pencil
X-acto knife
Rubber stamp with message or monogram
Stamp pad in yellow
Embossing powder in clear
Scrap of paper
Heat gun
3 square candles, each 3 inches wide by 3 inches high, in green
High-tack white glue

INSTRUCTIONS:
1 On self-healing mat, measure, mark and cut three 13-inch-by-1 1/2 -inch bands from cardstock using ruler, pencil and x-acto knife. Set two bands aside.

2 For first band, press rubber stamp in pad and press stamp down on center of paper band. Sprinkle inked image with embossing powder, shaking off excess onto scrap of paper. Funnel extra powder back into container. Use heat gun to melt powder, waving heat gun over the image in an even sweeping motion.

3 Repeat step 2 with remaining two bands.

4 Center and wrap message band around "waist" of one candle, overlapping ends at center of back side. Use a dab of high-tack glue to secure overlap.

5 Repeat step 4 to affix bands to remaining candles.
