Materials
• Microwaveable clear glycerin soap
• Pyrex measuring cup
• Soap dye
• Square, rectangular, or round soap molds
• Craft-store alphabet tiles
• Bamboo skewer
• Ribbon

Here's a gift tag that can become a useful gift itself. These tags are actually made from soap and are easy to make. This project works best when you are wrapping a multitude of gifts for a variety of people during the holiday season.

Be sure to use a clear glycerin soap; any other soap will be too opaque to clearly see what's embedded inside. Microwave the soap in a Pyrex measuring cup according to package instructions. Once melted, add a few drops of soap dye to your liking and stir. Fill the soap molds halfway and place in the freezer to harden.

Use alphabet tiles (such as Scrabble tiles) to write out the recipient's name, and place them on top of the hardened soap. Pour additional melted soap on top and chill. Unmold the soap tags and use a bamboo skewer to make a hole; string with ribbon and attach to the present.
