In an extensive home renovation that involved a complete rebuild of the second and third floors of his own Toronto home, designer Harvey Wise was able to design his dream bathroom “right down to window placement, fixture layout and size,” he says. The result is this generously proportioned room design with a tailored, masculine chic persona and a few Art Deco-inspired nods to the 1912 home’s character. The 11-by-19-foot space serves as a showcase for Harvey’s design clients, and it’s obvious why many of them have asked for a similar look and feel.
A miniature version of the floor’s plaid pattern appears on the shower floor. To break up the expanse of marble on the shower walls, Harvey decided to create a single criss-cross detail on the back wall.
