online shopping: society 6

When it comes to the internet, I'm ranked pretty high in the competition of 'most easily sucked in and swallowed whole'. I could be looking up a movie showtime and two hours later be clicking aimlessly around a site for a company that specializes in waffle makers. It's a time-wasting technique I'm not particularly fond of, but it often leads me to incredible sites I might never have heard of otherwise. On one rather uneventful day, I stumbled across Society 6 and my decorating life was changed. A compilation of prints from independent artists, Society 6 not only proved to be a haven for incredible art, but it was surprisingly affordable (print sizes generally run between $16 for a 10"x7" up to $80 for an extra large gallery size of 28"x37"). The site is a great way to support up-and-coming artists while adding art on a budget. Many of the prints are also available as laptop and iPhone skins, as well t-shirts and hoodies. Here are a few of my faves:

'Ampersand' by Jude Landry, from $18

'Abyss of the Disheartened: IX' by Heather Landis, from $30

'The King of Van Horn' by Christina Shaffell, from $16

'Mingle' by Lisa Argyropoulos, from $19

'Let's Run Away' by Shannonblue, from $19

Where do you find art for your home?
