Assistant editor Amanda Etty was captivated by this tiny island’s breathtaking ocean views, picturesque cobblestone streets, beachy homes and lobster rolls, all adding up to the perfect summer getaway. style-destination-nantucket-hote.jpg

White Elephant Inn
The White Elephant inn is the perfect spot for a relaxing long weekend getaway. Small details, such as complimentary bike rentals (the island has bike paths everywhere), pre-mapped jogging routes and wine and cheese at happy hour, made my stay feel extra special. If you’re planning an extended vacation or travelling with a group, opt to stay in the residences, which have an upscale seaside feel. 50 Easton St., whiteelephanthotelreservations.com. style-destination-nantucket-shop.jpg

Milly & Grace
There aren’t any big box stores on the island of Nantucket, which makes for a one-of-a-kind shopping experience – literally. Just off Main Street, you’ll find the decidedly feminine, ivy-covered shop Milly & Grace. Leave some room in your suitcase to bring home a few lovely things for someone special – or just for yourself. 2 Washington St., millyandgrace.com. style-destination-nantucket.jpg

Boarding House
I was determined to have a fresh lobster roll (a New England staple) while in Nantucket, and Boarding House serves up one of the best with a side of crispy fries. If lobster rolls aren’t your thing, come to enjoy the intimate atmosphere and the simple farm-to-table dishes that will leave you feeling full and happy. 12 Federal St., boardinghousenantucket.com.
