Backyards

book review: the house gardener

This beautiful book contains plenty of inspiration for displaying plants inside, including gorgeous glossy photographs. Fresh ideas for terrariums, hanging plants, indoor water gardens and more demonstrate Palmer's keen eye for creating contemporary gardens in small spaces. And I love her ideas for incorporating recycled or vintage containers to show off plants.

The book also includes a handy guide covering all the basics for growing houseplants. This section features plant suggestions for shady spots, planting techniques, solutions for reviving wilted or overwatered flora and sources for pots, tools and accessories. I love the look of houseplants, so obviously, I'm looking forward to putting Palmer's ideas into practice.
