Nestled in the heart of Elora, the Elora Mill is a historic must-visit. With its glass-wrapped restaurant soaring above the Gorge, a stunning spa, and boutique-style rooms, indulge in a taste of luxury.

Kat Florence Hotels

Dating back to 1848, this former hotel and cinema was revived as a luxe getaway that nods to its historic past. Bought and restored by jeweller and sixth-generation Elora native Kat Florence, the hotel was restored by local tradespeople and infused with Florence’s signature style.

See our review of the hotel here.

The Ayrshire Collection

With two accommodations in the village—a boutique hotel and character-filled guest house—The Ayrshire takes residence in iconic local dwellings that date back to the 19th century. The hotel is located in Canada’s oldest flatiron building and features stylishly curated suites.

The Friendly Society

With its name taking root from a social group that advocated for moderate drinking during the prohibition movement of the 19th century, this quirky bistro features an array of crave-worthy dishes and avant-garde cocktails.

Shining through the ground floor windows of The Ayrshire Hotel, The Lobby Bar is an exceptionally quirky hub for Asian-inspired food and drinks. With walls adorned in Gucci wallpaper and fun accessories, this is the perfect location for happy hour or a chic night out.

Elora Brewing Company

What to do

Peruse the shops

Take a stroll through Elora and pop into the village’s endless quaint shops. Soak in the scents of Canadian lavender products at Terre Bleu, admire the beautiful blown glasswork at Hanscomb Glass Studio, and pick up a tasty treat at the iconic Elora Bread Trading Co

Try local spirits

Despite its small-town vibe, Elora is home to several local drinkmakers. Pick up some brews at the Elora Brewing Company, or head to the Elora Distilling Company to taste test delicious cocktails made with their in-house spirits.

Go to a festival

Elora is no stranger to a good seasonal festival. While the town might be best known for its annual Christmas market and ‘Village of Lights,’ it’s just as worthwhile to stop in for October’s Monster Month that sees the town decked out in spooky Halloween decor.

Get outside

What makes Elora so special is that the sweet town is surrounded by beautiful nature. In the warmer months, the Elora Quarry and Gorge are stunning places to explore for their waterside adventures. Put on your hiking shoes or snowshoes to traverse local trails, and try your hand at ice climbing in deep winter.
