The decorated daybed
Fresh colours and playful
patterns mingle here, infusing this space with a lively rhythm. The curvy upholstered valance projecting out from the wall defines the sheltered nook and provides a canopy from which to hang a delicate
light fixture. A take-notice art wall adds personality, while straight-hung panels enclose the area, creating a nestling cocoon of comfort.
The look
A natural place for showcasing textiles, a daybed is perfect for layering pattern, colour and texture. This vignette looks polished thanks to upholstery details like the fringe along the curtain panels, which adds a fun flourish, and the piping along the edge of the curvy valance. Heaps of toss cushions offer colour and coziness.
The palette
Achieve a decorator look by mixing patterns and colours. Classic robin’s egg blue breaks free of its shell with a sprightly pattern that blends seamlessly with the rest of the soothing palette. The warm mustard yellow and rich brown live harmoniously with the cool hue, providing a colour combo that’s appealing and practical in any space.
