• Satin stitch
Colours used
• Cherry red (DMC #321)

Mark the design using the Dressmaker's Carbon Transfer method. Thread a #24 chenille needle with three strands of cherry red floss. Work the ladybug's entire body in satin stitch, and tie off. Change to three strands of ebony floss. Satin-stitch the seven spots on the ladybug's body (see the template diagram), and tie off. Work her head in satin stitch, too. Thread a #8 crewel needle with two strands of ebony floss. Using tiny straight stitches, work the antennae and legs.
