places to go, people to see: one of a kind spring show

Ah, what a fine Saturday morning it is. So bright and full of opportunity. What to do with this beautiful day, you ask? Head down to the One of a Kind Spring Show, of course! On until tomorrow, the exhibit boasts unique handmade wares from 450 Canadian artisans. Here are a few of my favourite things, starting with Senay Studio! photo-6 Tea towels, prints, toss cushions and phone cases all boast beautiful watercoloured motifs by Senay Guler Gunbaz. A pretty addition to any home. photo-1 Valerie Marchand from Acorn Studio wows this year with a new set of terrariums, because succulents are only getting more popular (stunningly sculptural and super low-maintenance: a winning combination) and require an equally beautiful place to live. photo-2 A simple, absent-minded doodle is the catalyst behind Mena Dragonfly's latest pottery designs. What a happy accident! photo-4 Sweet, simple and perfectly rustic, the illustrated textiles from Montreal's Prune are definitely on my want list. photo-3 Representing for the Etsy zone (an absolute must visit!), The Sweet Escape offers beautiful vintage plates decorated with cheeky gold-leafed phrases. "Treat yo self?" Don't mind if I do! Can't make it this weekend? Don't fret! The unique goods are on sale year round at the One of a Kind Online Shop. Happy shopping!
