Can you say pine? Despite its large size, this country powder room needed to coordinate with the rest of the cottage's blue and white colour palette and kiss its green sink and outdated wallpaper goodbye. Out went the knotty wood and in went an extra-wide antiqued black vanity with a stunning carrara top from Restoration Hardware that coordinated with the carrara herringbone floor tiles from Saltillo.   A bold hit of deep blue and black comes from one of my favourite wallpaper patterns, Rosslyn by Farrow and Ball and I loved how it created instant drama but still has a country feel. Accessorizing with wall-hung seaweed-motif trays from John Derian reinforces the nautical motif, as does the marine feeling of the Hicks pendant I ordered from Circa Lighting.
