Articulate this
Shed some light on industrial charm with the Jieldé lamp. Designed in the 1950s by Jean-Louis Domecq for his own studio and later adapted to a smaller “signal size” for the desks of the masses, the lamp articulates at its arm, head and base without interference from bulky wires. Available in a wide range of bold colours, this icon is considered a beacon of French industrial art. Each piece is made in Lyon, France, and is stamped with its own number to illuminate its authenticity . AVIAN-chair.jpg

Hans J. Wegner CH24 Wishbone CHAIR, Hollace Cluny, $1,189.

Wish upon a Wegner
Among the titans of mid-century modern design, Danish designer Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) was best known for his chairs. Indeed, this chief of chairs created some 500 seats that are reigned by chic simplicity and functionality, and his iconic Wishbone chair, designed in 1949, is no exception.

From the legs to the seats to the backs, Hans J. Wegner paid attention to every diminutive detail of his chairs. “The chair is the thing that is closest to people,” said Wegner, “so it is important that its detailing is in order. I feel details as much as I see them. People touch the furniture – they see with their hands.” AVIAN-Jug.jpg
ABS plastic vacuum jug with glass filler, Stelton, $88.

Perfect jug
Lauded for its functional yet fashionable form, the Stelton vacuum jug was introduced in 1977 by Danish designer Erik Magnussen. It features a unique rocker stopper for the perfect pour and a glass vacuum interior to keep your drinks hot (or cold, if you prefer) for hours. Award winning and avant-garde, this jug’s here to stay.
