So go ahead and eat, drink and be merry – just be sure to chase your sugar cookies and rum-laden egg nog with a detoxifying green smoothie the next morning. You'll feel so much better because of it! Lean & Green Smoothie For starters, kale is loaded with antioxidants, key vitamins (abundant in vitamins c, k and b) and minerals (namely iron). When blended with sweet pineapple, a banana and almond milk, it's pure bliss. The flaxseed adds a healthy dose of fibre, which aids digestion and is good for the heart. Makes 2 INGREDIENTS 1 tbsp flaxseed 1 cup packed chopped kale 1/2 cup chopped pineapple 1 ripe banana 1 cup unsweetened almond milk Grind the flaxseed using a spice or coffee grinder.
