Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons cream
- 1 tablespoon grated orange rind
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups flour
Directions
1 Cream butter, gradually add sugar and cream well.
2 Blend in egg, orange rind, baking powder, baking soda, salt and vanilla. Gradually add in flour.
3 Mix well. If necessary, chill.
4 Roll out one third at a time on floured surface to 1/8 inch thick.
5 Cut into desired shapes and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
6 Sprinkle with sugar if desired
7 Bake at 400 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes.
8 Cool, frost and decorate as you wish.
Makes about 60 cookies.
