Cookie swap: Jennifer's chocolate caramel cutout cookie recipe
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 2 cups white sugar
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 2 cup butter
- 2 cup brown sugar
- 1-1/2 cups chocolate chips
1 Pre-heat the oven to 350 F. Line an 8 or 9 inch square pan with parchment paper, draping the ends over the sides.
2 Beat the melted butter, sugars, vanilla and water. Mix the flour and baking soda and salt and add to the wet ingredients. Beat to combine. Spread in the lined pan and bake15 minutes.
3 Meanwhile heat the butter and brown sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
4 Spread over the cookie dough and bake 8 minutes more. Turn off the oven. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot caramel and return to the oven to melt for 3 minutes. Spread the chocolate. Cool until set.
5 Remove the parchment paper and cut into shapes with cookie cutters.
Serve cold or at room temperature. These freeze well too.
