Recipe: Strawberry napoleons
This recipe for strawberry napoleons is as easy as 1-2-3, and they're perfect for serving up as an after-dinner treat or a tea-time delight.
Ingredients
- 3 sheets frozen fillo dough, thawed
- Butter-flavoured cooking spray
- 1/2 cup whipped cream or topping
- 1 cup prepared vanilla pudding
- Sliced fresh strawberries
- Confectioners' sugar
- Pinch of cinnamon sugar
Directions
1 Heat oven to 350F. Spray 1 sheet of fillo with butter-flavour cooking spray, then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar; top with second sheet of fillo and cinnamon sugar.
2 Top with remaining sheet of fillo. Cut into 12 squares. Transfer to a baking sheet and bake 8 to 10 minutes until puffed up and crisp. Fold whipped cream or topping into vanilla pudding.
3 For each Napoleon, top a pastry square with some pudding mixture and sliced berries. Repeat layer, then top with a pastry square. Dust with confectioners' sugar.
Makes 4 servings.
